Bought car, online info said automatic but was stick shift.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought a car from Copart Atlanta East. The online Coparts information said the car was an automatic.

I bought the vehicle only to find out it was a manual shift car. I called Coparts the next day. They said they wouldn't do anything. They said I should have known from the pictures.

Only picture of shifter was from the side. There is no way of knowing what the shifter was. Moral of the story is don't believe anything that is on their site. First car I bought from Coparts.

Thought I could trust the company and their website. They proved me wrong.

I will not make the same mistake again. Will definitly look at other sites for any future car purchases.

Forced to pay for a vehicle I did not bid on

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was bidding on a toyota prius from my phone I was going back and forth but ultimately the other bidder won the vehicle. So I said oh well and exited the website.

About an hour later I received an email stating that I won a honda accord that I never saw or bid on, I was confused and was positive it was a mistake. When I called the office in Somerville, NJ the general manager Ryan was very rude and condescending. I explained what happened and basically he said that I must have bid on the car by mistake and that Copart is a multimillion dollar company, he told me I would have to pay $400 to relist the vehicle and I said there is no way I am paying for a vehicle I never bid on. Stay away from this company they will take your money and run.

The fees are unjustifiably high and I will no longer use them. The matter is still being handled

I just got an alert saying that I won a 1997 Honda Accord and I haven’t even used CoPart in about a month or two and never bid on a Honda Accord. I believe they’re scamming people.

I can care less I will not pay for something I never bid on. I want to see the IP address of the person that bid on that car because I know it wasn’t me.

Guest

I am having the same issue. How did it turn out?

Did you pay the relist fee?

Did they send you to court or collections? Please reply i am losing my mind literally.

Copart fake shill bidding

Stay away from Copart. They are fraud.

They are swindling insurance companies and dealers. How? Copart Purchases insurance companies vehicles very cheap using fake auction. They stop the online bidding on a particular lot for few second so no one can bid.

Later they acquired insurance companies’ vehicle’s title under Copart name and resale it at very high price using shill bidding. They do not provide bidding history. Why? To hide their fake bidding ids which they use to fool buyers.

Also to hide shill bidding documentations to avoid criminal penalties against Copart management. I HAD VERY BAD EXPEREINCE AT HOUSTON LOT. THEY INTENTIALLY MISS DISCRIBED THE VEHICLE AND I PROVED THEM WITH THEIR OWN DOCUMENTAITONS TO PROVE MY CLAIM. SINCE THEN DAY THEY STARTED REMOVING ALL DOCUMENTS INCLUDING OWNER MANUAL FROM EVERY VEHICLES THJEY SELL.

NEVER EVERY PURCHASE ANY VEHICLE FROM COMPART UNLESS YOU INSPECT IT BY YOURSELF PRIOR TO BIDDING ON IT.

DO NOT BELIEVE ON COPART LOT DAMAGE DISCRIPTION. MAKE SURE YOU START AND MOVE BACK AND FORTH AND LOOK UNDER THE VEHICLE BEFORE BIDDING.

Could greed be the answer to all the complaints?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

When greed is you mission, you don't take care of customers because that can cost you money, you don't hire enough people to effectively run your business because that could cost you more money and you charge an exorbitant amount of money for created services and, the normal fees charged by other auctions are much, much higher with Co-part. Their competitor, IAAI Auctions, is a much safer, more reasonable and customer friendly place to do business.

I can only assume IAAI is more customer friendly because of their association with Adessa Auction Company, who has to have good service to compete with Manhiem Auctions.

But as long as insurance companies feed them vehicles, Co-part will continue to operate under their license to steal mentality. We buy from both Co-part (only if we really want the vehicle they have) and IAAI, but the split is 95% IAAI and the balance Co-part; for the reasons outlined above.

Misleading Company!! Buyer beware!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Very disapointed in my experience. I purchased a vehicle that looked decent in the pictures and when I picked up it was a different story, well it turns out the vehicle was prepped for photos!!!!

COPART calls this "partial rebuild", which actually means, woods screws and wire to hold bumpers and lights on for the photos!!! Buyer beware.

Do not pay unless you inspect the car yourself. Very dishonest and misleading.

Why did you buy a salvaged car???

Shonnie Tmm

Hi, Kencr.

We take these matters very seriously at Copart, and want to ensure that all concerns are properly addressed. Please remember that the vehicle you purchased is a salvage vehicle, and as detailed in our member terms and conditions, every lot listed for auction is advertised and listed AS IS.

Although Copart provides 10 high-quality images and descriptions for each vehicle, we encourage buyers to come out to our physical locations to preview the vehicles prior to the auction date. Prior to visiting a physical location, you should contact the location to determine the hours viewing is available. If you are unable to visit a Copart location in person, there is a list of third-party inspection service professionals available for use on our website to ensure that all Copart Members are making an informed buying decision.

You can also learn more about the Copart buying process, and how you can ensure you are best informed by visiting Copart.com/faq or Copart.com/educate

Thank you for your business.

You are exactly right. They take pictures of what they want you to see until you buy.

It’s nothing short of a scam. On one hand this is what you buying and on another this is what you get.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Shonnie Tmm

Copart is notorious for misrepresentation and protecting the company with bogus policies that are indicative of their intention to scam consumers.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Shonnie Tmm

That is an illusionary cure. Their business model is designed to protect them while deliberate misreprensation is common place.

The high quality pictures many times don't show the damaged area completely. Runs and drives can lead you to believe it runs but my vehicle included a rod knock so I ate two grand. Their response was well you should learn a lesson. You go to view the vehicle and wait for an hour or they tell you , you can't view it because its on future, yet there are bids on the vehicle.

It appears that some vehicles come back to Copart as rejects after someone has pieced their bad purchase together to make it look good. When a vehicle is from private party there is no indication that it is from a private party so beware. If it is from insurance company they indicate that on the listing so your chances seem to be better that your not getting someone else's manipulated reject. I have learned that you have to personally inspect the vehicle you want to purchase and rely only on your own judgement, NOT ON ANYTHING COPART STAFF OR CORPART VERBAGE SAYS.

What you can rely on is their deception. they are a great example of liers cheats and thieves.

Their policies are well written by lawyers. Imagine being that lawyer.

I'm writing this after I have just purchased a nightmare. I bought a 2004 Nissan Murano from copart.com in Homestead, FL.

(Miami area). The auction website states that the car runs and drives and has normal wear. After I won the auction, I went to see the car and was horrified. I wanted to cancel my bid since the seller's reserve was not met and then was sent a counteroffer for a higher price that I did not accept.

I talked with the manager, Michael Santos, and asked how this was normal wear. The paint job on the car was oxidized all over. All of the electrical parts on the inside were messed up. The a/c was missing parts and did not work.

The leather interior had holes and the leather wheel was torn and missing parts too. The manager told me I had to keep the car, but I had no idea I was in for the real surprise when I took it to the mechanic. The transmission and suspension were messed up and would cost more than the car is worth. They gave me an estimate that the car would cost $4000 to repair only the transmission.

I would still have to pay more to fix the ac and the rest of the problems. I tried to call Michael and he hung up on me every time I was transferred to him. Now, I'm trying to get my money back or put back on auction so I can get some of my money back. I'm so disappointed in this company.

They don't disclose all the information in their descriptions on the auctions. I've been looking at cars at this auction for 45 days and they don't disclose any problems.

Be prepared to pay more than the car is worth and have numerous repairs to make. I don't recommend this place at all.

A friend purchased a vehicle from someone with a copart account. When I got the title, I noticed that the last owner of the vehicle lived near me so I stopped by at his house to seek honest advice from him regarding the car.

He seemed ok with it. However, he called copart and they closed the account of the guy that bought the car from them. This is terribly unfair, and unethical to punish someone for another's mistake . I emailed the manager and explained to him that it was my mistake, but he is still blaming the account holder for my mistake.

This is not right. There is no justice in this!!!

EVERYONE KNOWS YOU DON'T BUY CARS FROM MIAMI, ESPECIALLY HIALEAH, ALL CARS ARE SALVAGE, THEY DON'T CARE IF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY CRASH AND DIE

It appears that the car may ignite at any moment. Your comprehensive coverage covers that loss, less a deductible.
